Choose a restaurant with a poll

For a gathering, collecting restaurant preferences from participants can help everyone feel involved in the decision. With PollSan, you can create a poll before you have chosen the options.

Already have your options?

If you already have a restaurant shortlist, enter all the names yourself and go straight to voting. Only ask participants to add options when you want their suggestions.

Write the topic and notes for choosing a restaurant

Use a topic such as “Choose a restaurant for our next get-together”. Put the date, area, budget, group size, and food preferences in the notes. Specific requirements, such as “Friday evening, within a 10-minute walk of the station, under ¥5,000 per person”, make options easier to compare.

Collect options, then vote

  1. Enter the topic and requirements on the homepage, then select “Collect options from everyone”
  2. Copy and send the invitation and participation URL so people can add restaurants
  3. Review duplicates and options that do not meet the requirements on the management page
  4. When the options are ready, the creator selects “Start voting” on the management page
  5. Send the same participation URL and invite votes
  6. Review results and choose a restaurant to book

Writing options and notes

  • Use a short restaurant or dish name of up to 80 characters for each option
  • Put shared requirements such as area, budget, and date in the notes when creating the topic
  • Share restaurant details or recommendations separately in your group chat

Option inputs are for names only. Putting requirements in the notes makes it easier for participants to suggest options.

Things to keep in mind

  • Check current opening hours and prices before voting
  • Set deadlines for adding options and voting
  • Check dietary requirements and allergies separately when needed
  • Polls are saved for 30 days, so use another method for long-term booking management

The creator starts voting

If your options are ready, enter one per line on the homepage and select “Start voting with these options”. To collect ideas, select “Collect options from everyone” and share the participation URL. Any initial options are saved. When the options are ready, the creator selects “Start voting” on the management page. Participants use the same URL, so it does not need to change.
